Looking Back, Looking Forward

It was a simple but very pleasurable day. Dark, moody clouds graced the sky throughout the day, towing strong, frigid winds along with them. After work, I went to Barnes & Noble to quickly purchase Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark so I can read it before it comes out on film.

When I came home, this other book was waiting for me in the mail:

Yay.

I immediately got Silas ready and we went up to Wopsy for a trail run. It was 27 degrees when we got to the quite windy plateau. I was up there only five days ago (when everything was covered in snow and ice); I wondered if I'd be running in slush or on ice or in mud. Turns out all the ice and snow was melted and in fact, the trails were relatively dry (probably from the high wind). This weather lately has been doing some exciting things. I won't get into it right now, though.

Silas and I enjoyed a run. Going uphill about 3/4 a mile, it was an easy climb with nice views.

Lots of snowmelt! Looking back behind us, I saw that the setting sunset sure was looking pretty, so I decided that we should turn around and run toward it.

This meant that we would be back to the car sooner than expected, but no problem. We simply crossed the main road and entered the game lands to continue our run in the very exposed and cold atmosphere. It was very windy, cold, and there were snow flurries.

But it was beautiful.

And Silas, as always, had a good time.

Came home and did some research for a hike I am doing tomorrow. I'm very excited for this one because it's the first 2019 bucket-list item I'll be crossing off this year. My bucket-list is very focused on Pennsylvania this year. It's truly a very fascinating state--very nuanced and a keystone in more than the traditional sense.

Brian is gone until Monday night which means that I revert to my anal retentive behaviors where I plan every aspect of my days so that I can make the absolute best of them. I have an equal amount of fun and relaxation planned. Plus, the dogs sleep in bed with me and I watch creepy, spooky shit on the Netflix.

Good night.
